I have a pair of Alico boots ($300), that look very similar to these boots. Mens sizes 7.5-10 are available. $30 is cheap to outfit young males with hiking boots.

This heater/stove is an interesting item. It seems $100 is a fair price for it. I think I could fabricate one myself, but the time spent would be more costly than buying it.

Footwear is the one thing I can't mail order--there are too many variations in make and sizing, even between two pairs of the same boot. I won't buy it until I can try them on.
